A former model is reported to have quit her New York restaurateur husband for her identical twin sister’s fashion mogul husband in a story that has Manhattan’s elite society in a state of shock.
Charlotte Bonstrom, 50, is reported to have quit Vittorio Assaf in exchange for Thierry Gillier, 62, who is the designer of the luxury brand Zadig & Voltaire who is married to her twin Cecilia as per the New York Post‘s Page Six.
Mr. Assaf who was the co-founder of Serafina Restaurants, and Charlotte were married for more than 20 years. They have two children.
The website’s source said the website that Charlotte felt “very hurt” that Mr Assaf “often spent time with models during their marriage” and that the couple “started secretly dating other people”.
Cecilia, an ex-model who has a baby with the Mr. Gillier as well as Zadig and Voltaire’s artistic director, discovered the affair in March this year, after she made cryptic posts on Instagram.
A post from the 13th of March 2020, where she mentions her sister and her boyfriend Gillier in the post, reads: “You’re looking for three things that are generally required in an individual that are: energy, intelligence and honesty. If they don’t possess the latter then don’t think about the other two”.
She used hashtags such as #thanks and #warrenbuffet. The latter is the chief executive officer and the chairman for Berkshire Hathaway, to whom the quote is often associated with.
The next day she shared an intimate photo of herself in which she appears to be in tears, using the hashtags #momentofTruth #iknowWhoIAm #no. The next day, she shared another photo, with a caption that says: “Maturity is learning to walk away from people, & situations that threaten your peace of mind, self-respect, values, morals or self-worth”.
Charlotte said to the Page Six that it was her private life and that she had “two children in the middle, and I care about them more than the New York Post.”
Mr Assaf has confirmed that to the newspaper that his former wife Charlotte is getting married to Cecilia’s ex-husband, Mr Gillier however, he denied reports that he’s in a relationship with Cecilia.
“Charlotte me and Charlotte are currently in the process of getting divorced and she would like to remarry. She’s getting wedded with Thierry Gillier, who is the former husband of the sister she is divorced from. It’s very challenging to say no, but I don’t have anything to do with Charlotte’s sister. to Charlotte,” he said.
Cecilia and the representatives of Zadig & Voltaire did not respond to Page Six when they were contacted to provide a response.
